Version 1.5.2

Release Notes

1.5.2 contains numerous bug fixes and feature improvements, including:

  • SWORD module/version 1.3.1 supporting the sword standard version 1.3
  • Cocoon upgraded to 2.2
  • Fix for the UTF-8 issues with the XMLUI
  • New authentication methods: Hierarchical LDAP and Shibboleth
  • Full update translations: German, Italian for both XMLUI and JSPUI and Ukrainian for JSPUI
  • New translations for 1.5.x: Greek and Thai
  • Graceful resolver for urn in the item page for the JSPUI

Please refer to Jira and the SVN history (see below) for details on these and all the others modifications.

Timeline and Proceeding

Please assign yourself to the new trackers on JIRA system (http://jira.dspace.org/jira/browse/DS) and put anything you want to get done in the wiki. Please note that the trackers on SF are again available, if you get any issues using the new JIRA System you are free to post on SF. We'll do our best to move and keep up-to-date any issues reported in SF to JIRA.

Projected timeline:

  • Freeze 20 Mar 2009 with a "stable" proposal of addressed issues - extension time: commit for testhaton allowed until 23th March
  • Testhaton day: 25 Mar 2009 (from 10 GMT to 22 GMT)
  • Release 6 Apr 2009 - postponed due some critical bugs, see email to the lists and revision 3684
  • Release of a RC - TBA
  • Final release expected 14 Apr 2009

Note: also if this is a minor point release, we invite the community to get involved in the Testhaton day. To make this maintenance release the most stable as possible we need your help!
